Election Night

By Jack Barnes

It’s been one year since Donald Trump shocked the nation by becoming the 45th President of the United States; however, last night’s 2017 election proved that change is coming!
From coast to coast, television screens have been stuck on various news programs reporting election recaps today, but no one covered it quite like NewsOne NowDuring a special simulcast with the Tom Joyner Morning Show,  Roland Martin, along with special guests and in-studio panelists, dissected the 2017 election by discussing major accomplishments, advancements and positioning of African American politicians across the country. Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.

Among the guests and panelists were:
  • Tom Perez – DNC Chair
  • Michael Brown – Democratic Strategist, Former Vice Chair, DNC Finance Committee and son of Ron Brown – first Black DNC Chair
  • Greg Carr, Ph.D., J.D. – Chair, Afro-American Studies, Howard University
  • Ernie Suggs – Race & Culture Reporter, Atlanta Journal Constitution
  • Ron Lester – Democratic Pollster …and more!

While there were HUGE wins for Democrats, it’s clear that Black politicians were the real MVPs! Watch more of this intriguing conversation below:
