Jordan Brand Honors Russell Westbrook’s Record-Setting Triple Double Season [Sneakers]
Russell Westbrook really did it. The man averaged a triple-double for an entire season and broke what many thought would be an unbreakable record: Oscar Robertson‘s 41 triple-doubles in a single season. After Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City high and dry over the summer, Westbrook finally had his chance to prove that he was one of the NBA’s premier stars, and he didn’t disappoint – leading an undermanned Oklahoma City Thunder team that had no business making the playoffs to a 45+ win season. Jordan Brand is celebrating the historic accomplishment with the Air Jordan 31 “Why Not” PE, slated to release on April 29th, 2017. The pair features classic cement Elephant Print in an homage to Russell’s Air Jordan 3 PE that he debuted on-court all the way back in 2013 (a pair that we’d love to see release given the historic accomplishment). So what’s next for Westbrook? How about that MVP award? Why Not?
