Philly Artist FIQ Talks Music with Amber B

By Amber B

With so many recording artists trying to put their stamp on the game it is admirable to talk to an artist who is creating his own lane while putting out quality sound music. We recently had the chance to catch up with Philly Hip-Hop artist FIQ and he opened up to getmybuzzup exclusively about his path in the music industry.

FIQ talks to Amber B about his humble start, Did you know he use to be in a group? He tells how things didn’t work out with the group and how he stepped into his own path. He built his buzz as a solo artist by putting out mixtapes such as “Get to a Dollar“and the “The High Cost of Living.FIQ recorded a club banger “Make It Do 1 Thing” off his mixtape “The High Cost of Living” with Philly veteran Hip-Hop artist Freeway. He gives us the scoop on what it was like recording with the Philly veteran.

Now working off his current project “Failure is Not an OptionFIQ tells us how the business side of the music industry can be a headache. He keeps pushing through for his fans “Supporters.” When asked about his sound he describes it as “a mixture of east coast and down south“. He is one of those artists we love, a story-teller. Something we can all appreciate.

“I just try to be cleaver, add punch lines as well as tell stories about things I have been through in my life.”

FIQ gave getmybuzzup the exclusive details on his upcoming project including the features, the concept behind the project, why he chose to have the project mixed down a second time in Atlanta and more. We got the chance to talk about his new visual “Don’t Think Twice” that was directed by (@slimbojimboyo) and produced by (@WIERDOISDOPE). He tells us about how he was part of the directing and the concept behind it. The track is motivating and he credits this project to being an underdog.

Not only his he making his way in the music industry but he has tapped into acting, he has a small debut part coming up in upcoming film “Brotherly Love” with director Jamal Hill. Keke Palmer, Teyana Taylor, Malik Yoba, and Romeo Miller will star also be in the film.
