Artist tired of the continuous violence in his city
Breaking into the music industry is no easy task. The extremely talented and street-smart artist, Doughboy, is fully aware of that. Doughboy and Revolt TV are currently pushing new video “Break the Knob,” on all social media platforms. The single, witty and captivating, will leave many reciting the hook but also wanting to learn more about this up and coming artist from St. Louis. The new single is one of the many efforts by Doughboy to do his part in helping redefine the music industry and the messages being sent to the youth.
Doughboy is breaking the mold, using his musical platform as a tool to educate and enlighten his community and nation about prevalent issues in St. Louis and surrounding areas.
Having an understanding of the struggles many young individuals experience, Doughboy decided to launch the “Speak Out” against violence essay contest for 7th-12th graders in St. Louis.

This essay contest will allow students the ability to express themselves, the opportunity to voice their concerns and issues. The contest is simple; students are to write a one-page essay about how violence has affected them or the St. Louis community and what they believe could increase the peace in the city.
“I think that everything happening in St. Louis right now has an effect on young people… So I hope this contest allows them to channel their stress and pain into something positive.”
To be heard you need a platform, Break the Knob is the gateway for Doughboy to help his community.
