They always say, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”. But what if you’re a famous celebrity and there’s literally no way a Vegas elopement can be kept a secret?
That’s pretty much the case for a lot of celebrities who decided to tie the knot last minute. And while it’s easily assumed that weddings that happen in Vegas usually end in disaster, that’s not always the case. But we’ll also clarify: a lot of the time that is also the case, as you’ll see in today’s video. But for a few celebs, deciding to elope and get hitched in Vegas is the right decision.
Take Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker for example. The two got married right after the 2022 Grammy Awards and used their ceremony as a practice ceremony for their real upcoming wedding. Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas did the same thing when they got hitched in Vegas before having their official wedding ceremony in France.
And then there are couples like Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos who eloped in Vegas back in 1996 and have been happily married for nearly 26 years!
But then again, like we said, Vegas elopements aren’t always the best decision for some couples. Just ask Britney Spears and Jason Alexander, who were married for only 55 hours before it was reported that her mother Lynn Spears and her management team pushed to immediately annul their marriage.
Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton also know the feeling of having second thoughts on getting hitched in Vegas. And we honestly don’t even have enough time to get started on the craziness that was Tana Mongeau and Jake Paul’s wedding… and their entire relationship, really.
