Audra McDonald dishes on her new drama series “The Bite” and filming during quarantine. “They filmed it so responsibly I was really impressed, which was one of the reasons I signed on. I also signed on because [executive producers] Robert and Michelle King wanted to find a way to employ New York actors that were out of work because of the quarantine, because there was no theatre happening.” McDonald adds, “We filmed it in a townhouse in midtown Manhattan, and we had six floors. The top floor was the control center, and then the five floors below were different parts of the set. And the person that I was most in contact with was my husband, Will [Swenson], who played my lover in the show, so we were already in our own quarantine bubble, and other than that the only other person I saw in person was the director…we would do our own hair, our own make-up, we would do our own putting microphones on…I never saw the crew face to face.” She adds, “Robert and Michelle’s team wanted to find a way to give it some energy, so they insert zombies, you got your energy.”
