Beware of Darkness – ‘Summer Daze’ [Video]

Beware of Darkness

By Jack Barnes

Alt-rock outfit BEWARE OF DARKNESS have released the perfect warm weather, chill vibe video enticing fans to get lost in a “Summer Daze”. Directed by well-known surf film director Perry Gershkow (Hurley, Chilli Surfboards), the video for the band’s current single was shot in Huntington Beach, CA and sees frontman Kyle Nicolaides slipping into a daydream that transports him from the laundromat to the ultimate day at the beach with his band. Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.

Nicolaides says, “We all have physical places that represent sanctuary to us, and ‘Summer Daze’ is a song about wishing you could get back to that place. It’s about wishing you were someplace different than where you are and wanting to get back to that special place that at one time in your life was so meaningful & impactful.”

With opening slots under their belt with bands like The Struts, Cage the Elephant, AWOLNATION, The Wombats, Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, others, Beware of Darkness is in the middle of a co-headline tour with up-and-coming Canadian rockers, Bleeker. Tickets are on-sale now via each band’s website. Please see below for a complete list of dates.

Known for their incredibly blistering live show, BEWARE OF DARKNESS harness the best of some of the great alt. rock bands like Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood, The Struts, Wolf Alice, Cage the Elephant, even Nirvana, to deliver a memorable experience. On the upcoming run, BOD will be showcasing songs like “Muthafucka,” “Dope,” and the new alternative radio single “Summer Daze” from their recent release, ‘Are You Real?’ (Sept. 2016 via Bright Antenna Records) is the band’s biggest and boldest statement yet.  The 12-track collection serves as an urgent call to arms not only for frontman Kyle Nicolaides, but for the band’s sound as well.  The music ushers the rebirth of a sound that is as refreshing as it is addictive, and goes much deeper than riffs. The album illustrates how an artist on the rise fought uncertainty and disillusionment to avoid flaming out. And more importantly, how he has come through the other side revitalized and focused, with the best songs of his young career.
