While “Black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross is currently busy getting back to work on the ABC series, the actress has another show to prepare for: this year’s upcoming Emmys, for which she’s nominated for her fourth time.
She also made her singing debut in “The High Note,” something she says she’s wanted to do for some time in her career. With Diana Ross as a mother, she certainly has some big shoes to fill. Ross says making her debut in front of her mom was ‘terrifying,’ but not because she thought she’d receive harsh criticism.
“There was nothing about it like, ‘I’m playing my songs for Diana Ross,'” she told Variety. “Also with my mom, her kids can do no wrong. I think that the fear for me is that she wouldn’t be honest and she just says it was great.”
