Blazay Group Discuss Their Love for Music, New Single “Really do like it” & More [Interview]

We have a characteristic approach to modern electronic music, yet on the other hand, “We try to make our tracks Deep but catchy” we do a bit more then just put out another modern electronic, synthetic track that blends in with the hundreds produced by DJ’s every year, we try to be a bit different, we’re a London-based Dance group with a unique take on house music, infusing it with exotic Bajan (Caribbean) and Eastern European roots which make the sound distinctive, We have many other tracks that show this style of music, we want people to get that feel good vibe back, music to make up get up and express yourself, dance like no one is looking!

Getmybuzzup: Tell us a little about yourself?

Blazay: We are a London based group, we love music and love making it even more, the group is Me, Kevin (Songwriter/producer and Daria the amazing female vocalist)

 

BlazayGetmybuzzup: How long have you been in the music industry?

Blazay: 15 years

 

Getmybuzzup: How did you get started in the first place?

Blazay: We met accidentally in a cafe, and got talking about music, and started working together.

 

Getmybuzzup: How would you describe your sound?

Blazay: We have many styles but, Edm with a Caribbean twist.

 

Getmybuzzup: Who are your inspirations in the music industry?

Blazay: People like Dennis Ferrer, Kiesza, Blaze, but also Justin Timberlake, Timberland.

 

Getmybuzzup: How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?

Blazay: To be honest, I get a melody or beat in my head, then I just go with it.

 

Getmybuzzup: What are you currently working on?

Blazay: Also new tracks, but also remixing our tracks, releasing our tracks as well.

 

Getmybuzzup: What is the concept behind your latest song or project?

Blazay: The latest song that we will release is called “Really do like it”  everyone that hears it, wants us to release it, so we have to.

 

Getmybuzzup: Any plans on touring to promote your latest project?

Blazay: We are looking into that as we speak.

 

Getmybuzzup: What did you buy with your first check off music?

Blazay: I invested it in music.

 

Getmybuzzup: What are must haves when your in the studio working?

Blazay: I need to feel 100% musical when I’m in the studio, I don’t think about anything else.

 

Getmybuzzup: What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?

Blazay: To never give up on the music you believe in.

 

Getmybuzzup: Will you be collaborating with any other artists on this project or in the future?

Blazay: Yes maybe!

 

Getmybuzzup: Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?

Blazay: Both to be honest.

 

Getmybuzzup: What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc..)

Blazay: We always try to be better at everything.

 

Getmybuzzup: What’s your all-time favorite song?

Blazay: There are to many!

 

Getmybuzzup: In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?

Blazay: Sorry I don’t follow artists in that way, it’s there music I’m interested in.

 

Getmybuzzup: Who have been some of your favorite artists that you’ve been able to work with?

Blazay: Daria, Té Dee and Geo Grittz.

 

Getmybuzzup: How do you feel about the current state of music?

Blazay: I think the music is in good hands at the moment.

 

Getmybuzzup: Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?

Blazay: We dream about all of them

 

Getmybuzzup: What is your main goal as far as music?

Blazay: To enjoy doing it, but to make it a success.

 

Getmybuzzup: Who would you say your music relates to the most?

Blazay: People who love to dance.

 

Getmybuzzup: What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)

Blazay: We try and have a real feeling with all the music we do.

 

Getmybuzzup: When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?

Blazay: Watch films, go to carnivals.

 

Getmybuzzup: If you could work with any producer who would it be?

Blazay: Timberland!

 

Getmybuzzup: What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?

Blazay: Having a song in the top 40 charts in the UK.

 

Getmybuzzup: What is your dream venue to perform at?

Blazay: Wembley

 

Getmybuzzup: What artist music are you currently a fan of?

Blazay: Ultimate Rejects

 

Getmybuzzup: When performing live what are some of the things you do to get the crowd involved?

Blazay: Make the show as energetic as we can.

 

Getmybuzzup: When performing live and the crowd is singing along how does that energy make you feel?

Blazay: Like never stopping doing music.

Blazay: To hell or To Barbados
