The #BmoreYouthRise coalition and a bevy of nationally-known celebrity supporters announce the following public event.

WHAT: #BmoreYouthRise: A day of UNITY and VOICE for Baltimore’s youth

WHEN: Saturday, May 9, 2015

WHY: All across the nation, with the deaths of countless unarmed citizens including Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Rekia Boyd, Ayana Stanley, Jones, and now Freddie Gray, there is a universal cry for justice. #BmoreYouthRise was formed in the wake of the recent Baltimore unrest as a collective of national partners who are seeking ways to make the event day just beginning of a long-term process for healing and solutions for thousands of city youth.

The FREE public events will be geared towards junior high to college-aged students to allow a supportive and safe platform for voicing their frustrations and receiving solutions, advice, and love from caring and influential adults.


10AM #BmoreYouthRise Memorial Mural Dedication

Local youth will gather near Gilmor Homes (the late Freddie Gray’s neighborhood) to unveil a memorial mural in honor of his and other Black lives lost.

12-3PM – #BmoreYouthRise: “Universal Cry For Justice”

A State of Emergency-themed Youth/Celebrity Town Hall to be held at:

Baltimore City Community College

Fine Arts Theatre

2901 Liberty Heights Avenue

Baltimore, MD 21215


Hear from: youth from Baltimore City Public Schools and Local Universities, along with a Coalition of Celebrity Supporters [*confirmed: Freeway, Skyzoo, Jasiri X, Mysonne, God’Silla, Quadir Lateef & more TBA]

3:30PM – #BMOREYOUTHRISE: “Peace Walk”

A secure and peaceful on-foot transition from the town hall event to the rally location.

4PM – #BMOREYOUTHRISE: “Our Moment For Movement”

A star-studded, community led Youth Rally & Concert near the late Freddie Gray’s neighborhood. The Justice League will present a national agenda, legislative details, and solutions-based program ideas for local use.
