Courvoisier Cocktails to Celebrate the Birth of Hip Hop [Drink Recipes]

August marks the time the music industry was forever changed with the birth of Hip-Hop. Now, 45 years later, Hip-Hop is the most streamed genre of music in the world, according to Spotify. This year, to celebrate Hip-Hop and its culture, Courvoisier Cognac has created two cocktails alongside Grammy-nominated COO/Partner for Tree Sound Studios, Malissa “Mali” Hunter.

The Roots

  • 1 ½ parts Courvoisier® V.S. Cognac
  • 4 parts unfiltered apple juice
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Preparation: Pour cognac in a glass, add ice and top with apple juice. Garnish with a lime wedge.

  • 1 ½ parts Courvoisier® V.S. Cognac
  • ¾ part Yellow or Green Chartreuse® Liqueur
  • ¾ parts lemon juice
  • 1 dash of Angostura® Bitters
  • Lemon for garnish

Preparation: Put ingredients in a tin, add ice and fine strain into glass. Garnish with a lemon twist
