Seattle hip-hop artist Dave B partners with The Fader to premiere a brand new music video for “Rain” from his Punch Drunk EP released via independent Goodrich & Gold. In Dave B’s sweet new video for the blippy and tender track, the idiosyncratic singer and versatile rapper serenades his long-distance lover: “please just let it fall, rain down on my head. Let the love come down… all the people say.” Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.

“I had an idea for the video and hit up Peter Edlund who I worked with on a past commercial shoot and he was with it,” explains Dave B. “I think this song is really important to the score of life… love is the only thing that’s gonna save us from ourselves.”

“Rain” is the second music video released from Dave B’s 9-track Punch Drunk EP. The EP is reflective of the 23-year old’s musical versatility with his rapping, singing, writing and producing all while he refreshingly blends together organic elements of jazz, funk, R&B and hip-hop over his honest conscious-driven lyrics and soulful melodies and harmonies. Yahoo Music debuted Punch Drunk’s first single “Custom” declaring Dave B “one to watch on the hip-hop scene…known for his introspective lyrics and palatable sound.” In addition, the hometown hero was among “Ones to Watch” by alt-paper Seattle Weekly.

Seattle MC Dave B is a multi-talented hip-hop artist who raps, sings, writes and produces. His depth and versatility is partially attributable to his vast musical inspirations: gospel icons Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin; hip-hop luminaries Andre 3000, Missy Elliott, and Kanye West; R&B songstresses Aaliyah and Erykah Badu; jazz legend Theolonious Monk; and rock god Jimi Hendrix.
Dave B began honing his musical skills in school, later joining the diverse Seattle music scene in 2011 earning nods for “Illetric,” “Boathouse,” “Do That” and “Honor Roll.” By 2013, he took first place in Seattle’s EMP Museum’s Sound Off! Beating out talented artists representing garage punk, indie rock and electro pop, Dave B established himself as a force to be reckoned with. Soon after, he left Columbia College Chicago where he studied audio production and musical theatre, so he could devote himself full time to pursuing his artistic dreams. This year, he released his breakthrough song “Leaves” produced by fellow Seattle native Jake One, whereHotNewHipHop heralded Dave B as “one of the city’s most promising talents” with his “Chance The Rapper”-esque delivery, singing and rapping with ease and dropping thought-provoking bars.”
While Dave B’s modeling work has appeared in campaigns for Vans and The North Face, he sees no boundaries and that’s the message he wants his music to convey to his listeners.  “I want people to get a sense of Be yourself,” Dave B explains. “It’s hella shit going on in the world. The media, online, so many people telling you who to be. You shouldn’t have to try to be yourself. You should just be.”
