Multi-faceted singer / actress Demetria McKinney premieres her new video for “Is This Love” today via The video was directed by actor/producer Robert Christopher Riley (VH1’s Hit The Floor), who also stars as Demetria’s love interest.  The track is about the ups and downs of love, and the questions that arise after arguments and the passage of time. Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.

About the track, Demetria says, “From the moment I heard ‘Is This Love,’ I knew it had to be part of the album. Lyrically it represented that ‘place’ on each side of the spectrum of love, and the harmonies and nature of it was soooo honest. Immediately, I was like ‘Rob should do this with me.’ I’ve shot photography with him and his eye is awesome and I thought it’d be interesting to move into a directorial space with him at the helm. Then I needed a love interest. I literally called him and asked him to be my boyfriend!!!!! Lol! He was like ‘huh’?! I explained the song and we each came with the same ideas for the visual so everything just lined up so perfectly. The song demands the ear, the video demands the eye, so hopefully it’ll spark some conversation between couples in the good and bad of love.”

Rob adds, “I’ve gotta thank Demetria for trusting me with the vision we both created and, of course, for being so ridiculously easy to work with. It’s like a match made in heaven, lucky us.”

McKinney’s anticipated album, Officially Yours, will be released later this summer, and she’ll be starring as Whitney Houston in TV One’s highly anticipated biopic about Bobbi Kristina Brown, titled Bobbi Kristina, also due out this summer.

Demetria McKinney is a triple threat in the truest sense of the term. She is an award-winning actress who has played diverse roles on the big and small screens as well as on the stage; a gifted singer with a rich voice requiring zero studio enhancements; and a skillful songwriter who thoughtfully expresses emotions in a way that instantly connects with listeners.
Demetria McKinney is widely known for her role as Janine Payne on the hit TBS sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, which has taped over 254 episodes and received five NAACP Image Awards for Best Sitcom. She can currently be seen on Bounce TVs hit show Saints & Sinners, BET’s show The Quad, and currently on the Love Jones The Musical tour.
McKinney was also appeared on season 7 of Real Housewives of Atlanta, in which she debuted and performed her, single “100” featuring Da Brat. After performing it on the show, the single instantly soared to #4 on the iTunes R&B Chart.

While her acting career keeps her busy, Demetria always makes time for her first love –  music. Over the past several years, she has recorded and performed with artists such as Lyfe Jennings, Musiq Soulchild and Anthony David. Demetria has also toured with R. Kelly and the Pepsi Funkfest.
