Two G’s Smoke on OG in Dizzy Wright & Demrick’s Video for “Roll Up” [Video]

Dizzy Wright

By Jack Barnes

Dizzy Wright and Demrick complement each other like a perfect hybrid strain of marijuana. With a laid-back delivery and an easygoing drawl, Dizzy Wright is a calming indica to counteract Demrick the forceful, energetic sativa. Released today via Dizzy’s YouTube channel, “Roll Up” finds the duo posting up in a dimly-lit VIP section, rolling up their favorite strands of designer weed courtesy of Crown.Genetics (including Dizzy’s own Dizzy OG), chilling with beautiful women, and smoking themselves silly. The fourth visual from Dizzy and Demrick’s collaborative mixtape Blaze With Us!“Roll Up” is an engaging and trippy visual and an ideal demonstration of the two emcees’ unique dynamic. Featuring appearances from B-Real, Berner, and Audio Push, Blaze With Us! is packed with stoner anthems, woozy late night jams, and party starters. “Roll Up” follows the release of “Got It Good,” a G-Funk influenced banger which has earned nearly 90,000 views on YouTube since last week. In “Hundreds of Thousands,” the duo redefine Kendrick Lamar’s famous L.A. recipe: women, weed, weather, and waffles. Released after the conlusion of the duo’s Still Movin’ TourBlaze With Us! is their first full-length collaborative project. With support from DJ Hoppa, Audio Push, Mark Battles, and T Dubz, the Still Movin Tour headlined 19-dates across the continental United States.

The winner of the People’s Choice slot in the 2013 XXL Freshman 10, Las Vegas rapper Dizzy Wright had a busy 2016. In addition to releasing the Wisdom and Good Vibes EP and the Vegas-centric 702 EP, Dizzy opened for Logic on his sold out The Incredible World Tour before touring with Demrick in the fall. A respected member of the California Hip-Hop scene, Demrick made his name by collaborating with the likes of Xzibit and B-Real, teaming up with the two legends to form the Serial Killers. After releasing two projects and performing at Rock The Bells and Lollapalooza with the trio, Demrick stepped out on his own with 2015’s Losing Focus, his first studio album. In 2016, Demrick further established his own artistic lane with Collect Call. Featuring soulful, bouncy production from the likes of Scoop Deville, Lavi$h, DJ Hoppa and more, Collect Call is available now on iTunes and Spotify.

The Background:
Dizzy Wright Background:
Las Vegas, Nevada, Rapper Dizzy Wright began rapping at just 8 years old in the group “DaFuture” with his brother and very close friend; his mother wrote his raps at the time. Dizzy broke through when he was discovered at the Sheikh Music “Rip the Mic” competition in 2010 and signed onto Funk Volume a few months later. In April 2012, Dizzy released his first Funk Volume album, SmokeOut Conversations, peaking at #2 on the iTunes Hip-Hop charts which he followed up with a free mixtape, Free SmokeOut Conversations, which has been downloaded over 200,000 times, and helped propel Dizzy to his own national 30-city tour. In December 2012, Dizzy went on to release the first of four EPs, The First Agreement, which reached as high as #2 on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart. In March of 2013, Dizzy gathered enough votes to be selected as the “People’s Choice” member of the XXL Freshman Class of 2013. Also in 2013, Dizzy released The Golden Age mixtape and followed it up with The Golden Age Tour. In 2014, Dizzy released the State of Mind EP and toured the US  with support from Scion AV. Following the momentum, in 2015 he hit the road in support of his sophomore album The Growing Process, which peaked at #3 on iTunes. When 2016 hit, Funk Volume disbanded. No signs of slowing down, Dizzy dropped his Wisdom and Good Vibes EP and opened for Logic’s sold out The Incredible World Tour, while prepping his second release this year, the 702 EP.
Demrick Background:
Rapper Demrick has been closely mentored by three iconic acts in Cypress Hill, Kurupt, and Xzibit. Like that platinum trio of household names, the versatile, independent MC builds his music to last. 2016’s Collect Call rings to make a connection, in showcasing a new level of album-making from an artist with a story, conviction, and a palpable passion to his art.
