Brooklyn, New York rap artist Donn P makes the transition from warm-hearted boy to cold-hearted man, at least to his exes on “Missin Me.” The song is a poke at the women who dropped him, but miss him because he was a good catch. It is slightly reminiscent to fellow Brooklynite The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1995 song, “One More Chance/Stay with Me (Remix).” Both songs are confident player’s anthems about women yearning for their love and affection. The song is a change of pace for a rapper known for his aggressive, trap influenced style of hip-hop. When asked about “Missin Me” Donn P said, “I got my heartbroken and was in my feelings. This song is for the fellas who got played, but are now doing the playing.” “Missin Me” is a promotional single to help build a buzz for P’s Plug and A Plan Pt. 2. The track will be available to stream on his Soundcloud profile.
Last summer, he released Plug and A Plan Pt. 1 under his Str8 Drop Empire record label. The project has amassed nearly 10,000 streams on Datpiff and Soundcloud. Its success led to a ten-date tour with rapper Lil Durk. Donn P believes “Missin Me” and his upcoming project Plug and A Plan Pt. 2 will skyrocket his transcendence to the top of hip-hop’s food chain.
