EMPIRE

By Jack Barnes

The 2016 Soul Train awards aired Sunday night on B.E.T., celebrating in spectacular fashion the best black music and entertainment has to offer. EMPIRE was honored to be in the house!
Not only did Fat Joe & Remy Ma take home the “Rhythm & Bars” and “Best Collaboration” awards for their smash hit single “All The Way Up” but Anderson .Paak also took home the “Centric Certified” award for being exactly what soul music needs! Anderson’s most recent solo albums “Venice” and “Malibu” were both released in conjunction with EMPIRE.

On the performance side of things, a nationwide audience was treated to live renditions of some of EMPIRE’s biggest successes of the year, including D.R.A.M.‘s “WiFi” featuring host Erykah Badu, MAJOR.‘s “Why I Love You“, Anderson .Paak‘s “The Waters“, and Lloyd’s “Tru“.
