Perhaps it sounds like it is the wrong spelling of the month October, but ‘Woptober II’ is Gucci Mane’s upcoming album and to that effect, he has announced the release date which is scheduled for October 17.
The announcement came across social media channels along with the album’s cover art. This is the second album for the artist in 2019, the previous album being ‘Delusions of Grandeur’ which came out in June and was more than successful. It came up in the top ten of Rolling Stone’s top 200 charts.
Mane has since released several singles – Rich Game, Fresh, and Richer than Errybody – where other artists were collaborating with him.
Woptober II is preceded by another album that shares the same name ‘Woptober I’ which got released three years ago in October 2016 and was just months after the occasion of his release from prison.
Not an adequate amount of info has been released about the album, but one thing that we know is that this will be his first mixtape since 2017. You can search here for no fee concerts tickets to attend the live shows of Gucci Mane when he is performing near you.
Big Guwop – as Gucci Mane is sometimes nicknamed is at the front of the line when it comes to hip-hop – a prolific artist he simply does not know what it is to slow down and he had it in mind to release the album to mark the 10/17 movement.
Funnily, the cover art shows him during a full body massage – with a masseuse and a butler on the ready! And, that was the picture that he released on Twitter as well as on other social media platforms.
October is marked by spookiness, and Gucci Manes’s best work is usually his darkest – our imagination goes away, and we are suspecting that is why he is releasing the album this month – the art to suit the mood of the month.
The Fader, Rolling Stone, among others, has reached out for details but to no avail at least to date and this creates the suspense that he is known to love so much when he is about to release an album or a single!
Gucci mane as he is known to his fans, has been behind the pioneering of the subgenre ‘Trap’ along with other rappers Young Jeezy, T.I, etc., and to elaborate on that he went on to release albums using the word “trap” such as Trap House, Trap-A-Thon, and Back to the Trap House.
A very active artist by all standards, fans are always at the edge as they wait to see what is coming up from their beloved artist. He does not let them down.
Of course, the album cover does not give any hint of what we could be listening to, but time runs fast, and the release date is soon coming up and talking about it only increases the suspense!
Presumably, the album just might contain the LP – Richer than Errybody – but we can never be sure, and with Gucci Mane, it is better all round to wait and hear all that his album has to offer.
So, don’t miss the date – October 17– and get ready to enjoy the release of the album Woptober II.
