On the Season Four premiere, Lucious makes his first public appearance after the explosion in Las Vegas, while all members of the Lyon family have their own interests in Lucious regaining his physical and mental faculties. Academy Award- and Golden Globe-winning actor, director and producer Forest Whitaker (“The Last King of Scotland,” “Arrival,” “Lee Daniels’ The Butler”) will guest-star in a multi-episode arc on EMPIRE, beginning this fall on FOX. Whitaker will play “Uncle Eddie,” a charismatic music icon and bonafide hitmaker, who gave an unknown Lucious (Terrence Howard) his first radio airplay. Decades later, Eddie steps up for Lucious at a critical moment during his rehabilitation, and a grateful Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) invites him to produce a song in celebration of Empire Entertainment’s 20th anniversary.

EMPIRE is a powerful drama about a family dynasty set within the glamorous and sometimes dangerous world of hip-hop music. The show revolves around the Lyon family and their media company, Empire Entertainment. The founder, LUCIOUS LYON (Terrence Howard), is the king of hip-hop, but his company and reign are constantly threatened by his family, including his ex-wife, COOKIE LYON (Taraji P. Henson); his sons, JAMAL (Jussie Smollett), HAKEEM (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) and ANDRE (Trai Byers); and a volatile and competitive music industry.

  1. I can’t believe the amount of hate Tiana is getting. Hakeem hasn’t been the easiest to put up with either. In the beginning of their relationship he cheated with Camilla then had the audacity to get mad at Tiana for doing the same. He had a baby with his dad’s girl for goodness sake. He proposed to Laura when he obviously still had feelings for Tiana and he did it on Tiana’s tour. He made a mean diss track about her because “his feelings” were hurt about her dating Gram. He treated her like crap when she snitched to Cookie when all Tiana was trying to do was stop him from making a huge mistake. I’m happy to see Tiana actually stand up for herself and not be so worried about Hakeem and more about her career this season. It was actually nice seeing Hakeem truly work for Tiana as he should of been.

  2. Make Hakeem bi and secretly likes dudes too and Jamal falls for a women again but she's got a bitch of an attitude like his mother, Andre….is Andre. Bam 2 more seasons.

  3. I feel bad for Hakeem everytime he has a love interest in the show it goes sour and he gets a broken heart …. t would be nice to see things go well for him for a bit and him be happy !!

  4. If Tiana even DARES to get jealous omg… She’s the one who LITERALLY left Hakeem for her career! And yes even if its all because of Eddie, to me she ain’t got a word to say, cause she been acting like a brat since she got number 1 on the charts. (I really enjoyed how Cookie put her back in her place, it was really necessary)!

  5. He really has grown. Like the old Hakeem would have called her all sorts of bitches and hoes. I really don't want another love interest for him tho unless its going to be a legit one that lasts

  6. What’s f’d up is too many sistas have that “attitude.” Why can’t sistas just be humble. That’s a quality more rare than gold among women. Smh.
