Henry Metal
By Jack Barnes
Getmybuzzup: Tell us a little about yourself?
Henry Metal: My name is Henry Metal and I am a Heavy Metal artist of the most middling type. I craft the tunes that die hard Metal fans have been seeking since the dawn of the electric guitar.
Getmybuzzup: How long have you been in the music industry?
Henry Metal: I have been in the industry since April of 2017 which means since right now. My first single, “Butthead Maven,” was released earlier this month and was followed rapidly, pow, pow, pow fires hand gun) by three more smash hit singles, namely “Wrist is Pissed,” “Boss of Me” and “Henry’s Saga.”
Getmybuzzup: How did you get started in the first place?
Henry Metal: It was listening to the likes of Sabbath, Ozzy, Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies that first gaveth me the inspiration to follow the Metal path. Learning licks on my Ibanez guitar brought me much pleasure.
Getmybuzzup: How would you describe your sound?
Henry Metal: As I like to say, it is the classic Metal recipe. What recipe is that? One cruncy rhythm guitar coming from each of the left and right speakers, one ridiculously awesome drum performance which shreds the mind, one pummeling bass guitar holding up the mix and a vocal track that peers into your very being and gives new meaning to life.
Getmybuzzup: Who are some of your inspirations in the music industry?
Henry Metal: I seek to inspire Metal Heads everywhere to continue on in their mission of creativity, independence and fearless resistance to mainstream garbage everywhere. Including fake news of all types.
Getmybuzzup: What are you currently working on?
Henry Metal: I am currently working on many new singles which will be released over the coming months and years. There are currently four more up on the board which will be released in the next month or so. From there my Mages and I will seek to hone and whittle my tunes into a sound that is even more distinctly, if I may be so bold, Henry Metal.
Getmybuzzup: What is the concept behind your latest project?
Henry Metal: The concept is to bring humor and lightness to the dark places which we all experience in this life. There is no better way to face these fears than with a distortion pedal, bass and drums.
Getmybuzzup: Any plans on touring to promote your latest project?
Henry Metal: My apprentice Mages and I will be touring when there is demand for a tour. The rigors of the road are very difficult for a frail man like myself and I do not wish to expose myself to the elements unless absolutely necessary. Just kidding. I am strong and vigorous indeed. Maybe next year.
Getmybuzzup: What did you buy with your first check off music?
Henry Metal: That check, my friend, has yet to come. But I imagine it will be a black Gibson SG or some such material item.
Getmybuzzup: What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
Henry Metal: “The nose knows.”
Getmybuzzup: Will you be collaborating with any other artists or bands on this project or in the future?
Henry Metal: Absolutely. Collaboration is the spice of life, I have always said. I am always seeking new musical partners the way a nymphomaniac seeks new sexual partners. Music is much less messy, which is good for me.
Getmybuzzup: What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc..)
Henry Metal: I need to improve absolutely everything about Henry Metal. This I know for certain. I hope you and the Metal Community will be with me on my journey of constant improvement. For now, I think my crappy singing could use some attention. Just kidding. My voice is glorious.
Getmybuzzup: What’s your all-time favorite song?
Henry Metal: “Mr. Crowley” by Ozzy Osborne. Wait, no, “My Last Words” by Megadeth. Wait, no, “Hell Awaits” by Slayer.
Getmybuzzup: In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?
Henry Metal: I guess that would have to be Metallica. For obvious reasons.
Getmybuzzup: Who have been some of your favorite artists or bands that you’ve been able to work with?
Henry Metal: I have worked with everyone from Alanis Morrissette to Richard Simmons and Meatloaf.
Getmybuzzup: How do you feel about the current state of music?
Henry Metal: There are so many wonderful sounds coming from all over the Earth – it is a glorious stew of democratized notes which has never been seen before in the history of Man. Now a kid in Michigan or Ohio can make a record that sounds better than major label stuff in their bedroom. What a great era for musicians everywhere.
Getmybuzzup: What is your main goal as far as musician?
Henry Metal: To enjoy Metal with my fellow Metal Heads.
Getmybuzzup: Who Would you say your music relates to the most?
Henry Metal: It is the spiritual brother to Dave Mustaine and Tenacious D.
Getmybuzzup: What separates you from other bands? (What’s makes your band different?)
Henry Metal: Brutal honesty and musicality.
Getmybuzzup: When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
Henry Metal: I am an avid masturbator. No, I mean, um, refrigerator. I like to eat. I mean cook. I am a great cooker. I am a cooking artist in my spare time. And jogging.
Getmybuzzup: If you could work with any producer who would it be?
Henry Metal: Rick Rubin of course.
Getmybuzzup: What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?
Henry Metal: Saying Rick Rubin’s name in an interview.
Getmybuzzup: What artist music are you currently a fan of?
Henry Metal: Rick Rubin. Ok, and Avenged Sevenfold and a fair bit of Slipknot.
Getmybuzzup: When performing live what are some of the things you do to get the crowd involved?
Henry Metal: Dance! I dance the dance as I thrash the thrash!
Getmybuzzup: When performing and the crowd is singing along how does that energy make you feel?
Henry Metal: It is like the sweetest nectar from the dewiest tree in the hidden chambers of Narnia.
Getmybuzzup: What can we expect from you in the future?
Henry Metal: Much, much more glorious music.
Getmybuzzup: Anything else you wanna add?
Henry Metal: I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to speak to you and the fans on this day. It is truly an honor and I hope we will do it again soon.
Getmybuzzup: Where can the fans go to check out for your music?
Henry Metal: Why, start at HenryMetal.net and work your way from there!
