J. Stalin & Dj.Fresh | “Livewire Party” [Video]

By Jack Barnes

Known for his viciously real lyrics and his hypnotic and aggressive flow, J. Stalin represents the duality of street life in the Bay Area. Teaming with frequent collaborator Dj.Fresh, Stalin shares the bright and energetic Livewire Party,” his latest video. Boasting a severely hyphy instrumental from Oakland production legends The Mekanix, Stalin lives it up in the latest video, spitting game at women and threatening violence to anyone who’d get in the way of his good time. In the video, Stalin and his Livewire crew host a costume party, sipping from red cups, rocking Rolexes, and watching muscle cars do donuts in a well-lit warehouse. “Livewire Party” is a highlight from the “Miracle” disc of Miracle & Nightmare on 10th Street Part 2Stalin’s latest double album and collaboration with Dj.Fresh. Premiered by XXL, “Livewire Party” follows the videos for the HYPEBEAST-premiered “Cops & Robbers,” the sinister Nightmare on 10th Street Returns,” and the luxurious “Living Lavish.” Enjoy this video stream below after the jump and please share this with friends.

Reuniting for their 9th and 10th collaborative albums, Stalin and Dj.Fresh shared Miracle & Nightmare on 10th Street Part 2 in November. The sequel to Fresh and Stalin’s Miracle & Nightmare on 10th Street, which reached #28 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart upon its release in 2013, Part 2 spans two 10-track discs, each organized on the the nightmare and miracle of life in Stalin’s neighborhood in Oaktown. Packed with detailed street stories, creative brags and threats, and memorable turns-of-phrase, Miracle & Nightmare on 10th Street Part 2 brims with electricity, as Dj.Fresh provides a bright electro-funk backdrop for the Miracle disc and an aggressive, bass-heavy mob soundscape for the Nightmare disc.  Featuring appearances from Beeda Weeda, Shady Nate, Juneonnabeat, Mitchy Slick, and other East Bay stalwarts, Miracle & Nightmare on 10th Street releases via Livewire/EMPIRE.
