Building a massive following in his hometown of L.A. with his ice-cold bars and positive message, King Lil G is no-nonsense when it comes to business. Relaxing with his AK47Boyz crew in a luxury hotel room, King Lil G shares “Call It What You Want,“ his latest self-directed music video. An intoxicating West Coast bop produced by King Lil G himself, “Call It What You Want” lays out cold hard facts for anyone who would dare try tear him down: “B*tch I’m making sales and they coming out that trap/Got shells and they comin’ out the strap/On bail ’cause they caught it on my lap/Blue Devils, better put us on the map.” In the video, King Lil G and his associates shine in UV light, with a photogenic blacklight glowing up G’s custom Dodgers jersey and his crew’s AK47Boyz hats. “Call It What You Want” is the latest video from Eternal, King Lil G’s latest album, which peaked in the Top 10 of the Apple Music and iTunes Hip-Hop Album Charts. Finding a middle ground between the tuneful gangsta sound of G-Funk and L.A.’s current snap, Eternal finds the 32-year-old rapper pondering his legacy, reflecting on his past transformed him into the person he is today–an established star and neighborhood hero. The work of a proud DIY craftsman–King Lil G had a hand in producing each of the album’s ten tracks and in directing each music video–Eternal finds the rapper born Alex Gonzalez hungry and eager to assume his rightful place on the national rap scene. The album boasts recently released video singles like the aggressive, HYPEBEAST-premiered “No Face No Ca$e” (3 million views on YouTube), the loyalty anthem “47 Deep” (1.5 million views), the luxurious “Henny & Kush” (650k views), and “Been On” (590k views), released last week. With over 10 million streams across platforms in its first week of release, and with tracks from the album entering rotation on Hot 97 and Shade45, Eternal is available everywhere via EMPIRE.
