Kitty Crimes to Drop First Album, Crimes of the Kitty: Volume 2

Kitty Crimes

By Jack Barnes

As a self-producing artist, Kitty Crimes does it all. She is the content creator, the visual director, the graphic designer, the video producer, and the artist. Kitty Crimes now manifests an impressive record, previously opening for Big Freedia, Esme Patterson, Tennis, Andrew W.K., and performing at Red Bull Sound Select, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Treefort Music Fest, and the Underground Music Showcase.

“Crimes of the Kitty: Volume 2” is a look inside the life of Maria Kohler; a timeline of who she has become over the last 3 years making this album – as a female, an artist, and finding her musical niche. Her release is set for April 5 on all online venues.

“If you look at the collection as a whole, I’m exploring infatuation, heartbreak, confidence, and progress,” says Maria Kohler of Kitty Crimes. “This album is largely a timeline of who I was and who I’ve become, with a strong underlying theme of power. It’s a reflection of how I’ve stepped into my own sense of personal power, or how I’ve given it away.”

Kitty Crimes is most noted for her flagrant performances with explorations into rap and pop expressions. She recently headlined Treefort Music Fest, and is set to release her album at Hi-Dive in Denver, Colorado on April 5.
