LANZ PIERCE
By Jack Barnes
Lanz Pierce delivers LOS CITY, her first full length LP following her two previous EP’s “Point Of No Return” & “Editors Eye.” The album title was coined to represent her influences split between Los Angeles and New York City that have both shaped her perspective and pen. Pierce collaborated with new producers on LOS CTY to define a sound all her own. The album’s strong lyrical narrative touches on the challenges of a 20 something dealing with life’s highs and lows that make it easy to relate to. On “Love & Loathing“ Lanz rhymes, “I need a little bit of nostalgia, to go with all this new world wave. Some Lauryn Hill, to keep me chill, on my 21 Savage rage.” LOS CITY includes an international twist, a feature from London’s Funky House Afrobeats pioneer (Donae’O) & additional production from U.K female DJ FlavaD. Enjoy this audio stream below after the jump.
Noteworthy tracks include, Way too Far (Jahaan Sweet), Cinematic (Swim Team), Win (FlavaD), and Piano (Donae’O). Lanz has previously worked with Hip-Hop standouts like, Nottz, Nate Foxx, Donnie Trumpet, Chase N. Cashe, Play Picasso etc.
