Lil Reek

By Jack Barnes

An endless font of energy and charisma, ATL’s Lil Reek is a fascinating presence and a promising emcee. Teaming up with French DJ/Producer Brodinski for an aggro-trap banger, Lil Reek shares Rock Out,” his new single. Running roughshod over a pulsating and heavy house-influenced beat, the high school senior Lil Reek proclaims his rap supremacy, spitting violent threats toward inferior rappers and lames of all stripes and sizes. Directed by Kim Chapiron, a founder of the Kourtrajmé collective along with Romain-Gavras, the video takes a stylishly lo-fi look at Lil Reek’s life, following him driving around the neighborhood, partying with his block in the yard, and hanging out in his crib with a pet snake. “Rock Out” is the first single from Graduation, Lil Reek’s upcoming EP, which features production from Brodinski, Chase The Money, and Mister Tweeks.
