A documentary about Lorenzo Johnson will be screened at the CUNY Film Festival this Friday, April 28.
The Long Road Back was produced by Brooke Williams. The film documents the double injustice experienced by Lorenzo, released after sixteen and a half years due to insufficient evidence — only to be reincarcerated due to a legal technicality. Join his friend, exoneree Jeffrey Deskovic, as Jeffrey re-creates his and Lorenzo’s drive back to prison in 2012. Lorenzo, from behind bars, narrates his thoughts about returning to prison for a crime he did not commit. Visit Lorenzo’s home and listen to Lorenzo’s wife, mother, brother, and friends recount the terrible journey that he has been forced to take.
