Nikmoody released a video to Dear Luna which is one of the songs on his latest EP that was House of Mirrors that was made available last month. “Dear Luna” is a letter to the moon. In this case, the moon portrays any celestial being such as God or karma. Luna is personified in human form based off some of nikmoody’s personal experiences and he cries to her for “a little light” for without her the sky would be complete darkness. It’s a song about finding positivity in even the darkest of times. It’s a song of desperation. It’s a song of pride. Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.
The video echoes this idea. Luna, played by Alexandra Rose Krieger, floats through the visuals ignoring nikmoody and playing with the light bulbs hanging from above. Her refusal to acknowledge his beckoning cries only makes his passion more intense and as the song plays it builds and builds. We wanted to find a way to communicate the idea that without the moon our world would be complete darkness Light bulbs provide the source of the light for the video but if you notice at the very end upon zooming in, they bar a striking resemblance to the moon.
