NYPD adding cameras to all prisoner vans [News]

The NYPD doesn’t want its own Freddie Gray — every prisoner van in the department’s fleet is getting a security camera, the Daily News has learned.

The revamp will start shortly and will likely be finished in several months — with all future van purchases already equipped with cameras.

The cost of the initiative, $2,100 for each of the 110 prisoner van’s in the NYPD’s fleet, is less than $250,000. Read More…
