Preston Perry, “Dear Mike Brown” – A Spoken Word Piece About Police Brutality, Racism and Social Injustice [Video]

In light of our nation’s struggle against police brutality and racial injustice, P4CM Featured Poet, Preston Perry teams up with P4CM (Passion for Christ Movement) to drop a refreshingly honest & controversial piece titled, “Dear Mike Brown.” Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.

The poem, which highlights Perry’s own recent encounter with law enforcement, manages to capture the outrage and helplessness stemming from police brutality while also scolding the insensitive and extending compassion to police officers — even those as undeserving as Darren Wilson.

The piece was performed on August 7th at the Passion for Christ Movement (P4CM’s) annual poetry event, Rhetoric – which is the largest spoken word event in the world!
