Pro Era emcee CJ FLY today announces he will unleash his forthcoming full-length album FLYTRAP on Friday, December 9, 2016. Marking the Brooklyn rapper’s first commercial release, the album comes via Pro Era/Cinematic Group.
The first full-length release since his acclaimed 2013 debut Thee Way Eye See It, FLYTRAP, a 14-track LP, is a very personal album. CJ makes his producer debut and there’s commentary from his mom and late grandfather. Additionally, the album features production from dF (Travis Scott), SmokeyGotBeatz (Jayrock, Kendrick Lamar), Kirk Knight of Pro Era and Hannibal King (Mac Miller).
First single “Now You Know,” set the tone for the album, letting listeners know this isn’t going to be the typical CJ Fly offering. Says Billboard, “The atmospheric cut features a woozy hook that sandwiches a single, rapid-fire verse from CJ, serving as a personal statement of sorts.” The striking Andrew Pulaski directed black and white visual for the record carry’s through that vision leaving viewers with the impression that CJ FLY has arrived.
