Since the release of The Art of Counterfeiting EP, it has gained 19,000 plays on Soundcloud. The entire project is self-produced and the video for single, “Gorilla,” was self-directed. With a veritable co-sign from hip hop legend, Large Professor, Fouche delivers a “dark, elaborate visual treatment, which some have suggested features Illuminati imagery and it follows Fouche as a counterfeiter on the run from the law.” (Urb). In addition to being a musician, Fouche is also a sculptor and painter, who applies his aesthetic vision in his visual treatments. He has performed at notable venues, such as Webster Hall, Times Square Art Center, Rutgersfest at Rutgers University, as well as opening for the legendary hip hop duo, Dead Prez at Santos Party House. Enjoy this audio stream below after the jump.
Currently, he is prepping for the release for his upcoming LP in early 2016. This fall, he will be throwing a party with Hot 97’s DJ Wallah in anticipation of his newest project’s release, so stay tuned for more exclusives from Rick Fouche!
