ROBERT GEE

By Jack Barnes

Soulful R&B Singer/songwriter Robert Gee is set to debut his sophomore release “Robert Gee – The EP” on Friday November 11. The 2010 Black Music Association’s Best Male Vocalist award winner joined forces with Grammy nominated producer Grant Williams Nicholas (Ledisi, Musiq Soulchild) to deliver a polished collection that Soultracks.com called “smooth grooves with a 90s R&B feel.” Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.

Featured as Soultracks.com CD of The Month, “Robert Gee – The EP” is available digitally everywhere 11/11/16 including Spotify and iTunes http://apple.co/2fllZym

Robert Gee was discovered by Patti Labelle as a teen and earned his soul apprenticeship working with many R&B legends including Luther Vandross, Vesta, Teena Marie, Kashif, and The Emotions. Touring with Loose Ends feat. Jane Eugene extensively over the last three years, Robert was not only a featured background artist but stepped into the lead male role opposite Jane Eugene.  The Philly native draws upon his soulful roots for the seven track EP, which includes the debut single “All I Ever Wanted” co-written by Gee and Grant William Nicholas. “All I Ever Wanted” is currently on the ballot for Grammy consideration.  According to FunkandSoulandJazz.com, the six song set “manages to sound totally contemporary while having its roots in proper ole school soul.”

“Because I am a native of an iconic soul city like Philly I feel it is my artistic birthright and blessing to lay hold of the soul/R&B torch and carry it forward with pride, artistic integrity and straight up dignity!” – Robert Gee

The music video for “All I Ever Wanted” premiered Wednesday November 9th.  The video was directed by Ron T Young for Fig Tree Films and features a cameo appearance by Jane Eugene, original female vocalist from UK R&B Supergroup Loose Ends. Gee will be appearing on tour with Jane and Loose Ends during release week opening for the band when they hit New York City (11/10 B.B. Kings), Washington, D.C, (11/11 Howard Theatre) and Chicago (11/13 City Winery).
