Getmybuzzup: Tell us a little about yourself?
Rosegang: My name is Rosegang, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Tauranga, New Zealand.
Getmybuzzup: How did you come up with the name Rosegang?
Rosegang: It’s based around my throat tattoo I got but the rose on my throat stands for new beginnings, the triangles below it represent the trials and challenges I have faced, and the arrow beneath it represents going forward. The reason I got it on my throat is because I wanted to show people what you see is what you get. From there on I have been called Rosegang.
Getmybuzzup: How long have you been in the music industry?
Rosegang: I have been around music my whole life but within the industry of recording my own music this will be my second year.
Getmybuzzup: How did you get started in the first place?
Rosegang: Me and my siblings began playing at a young age and played at our local church.
Getmybuzzup: Any plans on shooting a music video for the record ’12 Over 6′?
Rosegang: We did shoot a music video for it.
Getmybuzzup: Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
Rosegang: Doing shows is definitely in the line down the track so keep an eye out.
Getmybuzzup: How difficult is it with COVID restrictions to promote your music?
Rosegang: Not hard at all as all promoting these days is all online.
Getmybuzzup: Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
Rosegang: Post Malone, Travis Scott, Chris Brown, and many more.
Getmybuzzup: How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
Rosegang: I put my headphones on and just write what I’m feeling or if there’s something I need to get off my chest. Just me and my lyrics.
Getmybuzzup: What did you buy with your first check off music?
Rosegang: Haven’t made a check yet.
Getmybuzzup: What are must-haves when you’re in the studio working?
Rosegang: My brother Phlimingo, we bounce off each other and we really challenge each other’s tasks. We definitely support each other and try to get the best results as possible.
Getmybuzzup: What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?
Rosegang: It’s your character that will carry your talent. People will remember what type of person you were before your talent.
Getmybuzzup: Will you be collaborating with any other artists in the future?
Rosegang: Definitely want to look into collaboration with other artists.
Getmybuzzup: Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the musical flow and content?
Rosegang: That’s something I can’t really answer myself. I just hope people find my music inspirational and love my style.
Getmybuzzup: What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc..)
Rosegang: I think there’s always room for improvement and if that’s so I think in all areas. There’s no harm in getting better and better.
Getmybuzzup: What’s your all-time favorite song?
Rosegang: Right now I would have to say Go Crazy by Chris Brown.
Getmybuzzup: What was the last album you listened to?
Rosegang: Perfect Timing by YG.
Getmybuzzup: In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?
Rosegang: Chris Brown and I say that because he can do everything and he’s good at it. Everything he releases just keeps on getting better and better.
Getmybuzzup: Who has been some of your favorite artists that you’ve been able to work with?
Rosegang: I haven’t done any collaborations with other artists yet but that’s something I want to look into too.
Getmybuzzup: How do you feel about the current state of music?
Rosegang: I do feel like people are losing their creativity in somewhat matter.
Getmybuzzup: Any dream award shows you hope to one day play at?
Rosegang: I haven’t really thought about it but I guess that’s something I’d be interested in if it ever came up.
Getmybuzzup: What is your main goal as far as music?
Rosegang: My main goal is to share my story and music with the whole world.
Getmybuzzup: Who would you say your music relates to the most?
Rosegang: I don’t like to ever compare myself to anyone. I leave that to the fans to decide. But besides, I’m in my own lane.
Getmybuzzup: What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)
Rosegang: I think some part of my style makes me different. I think my work ethic and passion for music make me stand out too.
Getmybuzzup: When you’re not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
Rosegang: I love to drink I find it relaxing and I love to work on my side hustles. I want my family to never have to struggle.
Getmybuzzup: If you could work with any producer who would it be?
Rosegang: Scott Storch.
Getmybuzzup: What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?
Rosegang: The biggest highlight would have to be reaching 10k streams on Spotify on my latest single 12 over 6.
Getmybuzzup: What is your dream venue to perform at?
Rosegang: Spark Arena in Auckland city.
Getmybuzzup: What artist music are you currently a fan of?
Rosegang: At the moment I would have to say Blxst.
Getmybuzzup: When performing live what are some of the things you do to get the crowd involved?
Rosegang: I’m still new to performing live but I try to engage with the crowd in a way where they see me as a mate they are having a party with.
Getmybuzzup: When performing live and the crowd is singing along how does that energy make you feel?
Rosegang: Definitely is a different feeling and something I could get used to.
Getmybuzzup: What’s the name of the last book you read and by whom?
Rosegang: I don’t read books.
Getmybuzzup: What’s your favorite sports team and why?
Rosegang: allblacks rugby union team because they’re my home country team.
Getmybuzzup: Who’s your favorite actor or actress and their best movie?
Rosegang: I don’t really watch movies.
Getmybuzzup: What can we expect from you in the future?
Rosegang: I move silently but you’ll soon see what I’m upto.
