“Sada records new material at racehorse speed and he’s always ahead of the game, with an eye for what’s next,” said Asylum Records GM Gabrielle Peluso. “This venture gives him the space to cultivate artists and champion initiatives that inspire him, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it, along with ADA, who offers an incredible infrastructure that will allow Sada to feed his ever-growing fanbase.”
“This imprint is a culmination of the hard work my team and I have put in these past few years,” said Sada Baby. “With the support of my Asylum family and the ADA network, I have the opportunity to expand my profile as an innovative artist and pour resources into an exciting roster of young talent. Big Squad is a movement, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.”
In 2018, Detroit’s Sada Baby emerged with his breakout track “Bloxk Party,” and its accompanying visual which garnered over 60M views. Soon thereafter, he became one of the first signees to ink a new deal with the newly restructured Asylum Records. 2019 marked the release of his critically acclaimed mixtape Bartier Bounty, which landed on Billboard’s Best Albums of 2019 List. Pitchfork rated the project an 8.0 stating “Sada Baby is already an all-time-great shit talker, a charming scoundrel who makes the most debased jeers seem delightful,” while Stereogum proclaimed the charismatic emcee created “2019’s first great rap album” with “wild, unstable, joyous fuck-it-up energy.” In early 2020, the meteoric rise of Sada Baby continued with the release of Skuba Sada 2, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart. The promising star is working on his first, official studio album slated for arrival later this year.
