Singapore resumed executions in March 2022, after a two-year hiatus. According to local activists, there are an estimated 60 inmates on death row, most of whom are for drug-related offences.
64-year old Nazeri bin Lajim has been scheduled for execution by hanging on July 22, 2022. This is the 9th execution scheduled this year, just shortly after the State carried out a double execution on July 7, 2022.
