Boa-constrictors, fire-spewing walls, kaleidoscope-backdrops, and raining hundred dollar bills. T.I.quickly releases stunning visuals for his latest single, “Check, Run It,” fresh off the surprise release of his Da’ Nic EP. Directed by Philly Fly Boy and T.I. himself, the video effortlessly captures the raw power from the League of Starz-produced track. Glitchy screen flickering as well as flashing lyrics smoothly sync with the fresh high-hats and T.I.’s dynamic delivery. Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.
“Check, Run It” hit hard and fast, with Stereogum dubbing it a “banger,” saying, “T.I. brings that peerlessly fluid delivery, always sounding completely effortless.” Da’ Nic, put out via his Grand Hustle Records label via Empire Distribution, is his first independent release. The five-track project includes features from Young Thug and Young Dro, as well as production from Jazz Feezy, Sho Nuff, League of Starz, London On The Track, and Mars. Named after the slang term for a nickel bag, the five song EP,Da’ Nic, serves as the precursor for the forthcoming 10-track full album, The Dime Trap. “T.I. is the fucking best,” says Noisey. “He’s been going for almost 20 years at this point, and hasn’t shown any rust or wear in his music”
