Released earlier this summer, Double Cups & Taco Trucks, established T2 Ghetto Hippie as one of Houston’s brightest new voices. The 7-track EP features guest appearances from Dizzy Wright and Maxo Kream with production from Trakksounds (Bun B, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky) and Chris Rockaway (UGK, Tech N9ne, Trae Tha Truth). The project offers a unique snapshot of Houston culture and the EP’s title-track, “Double Cups & Taco Trucks,” was chosen by renowned music critic, Robin Hilton, to be featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered for the podcast’s special SXSW 2017 preview. The music video for “Double Cups & Taco Trucks” gained similar acclaim and caught the attention of Earmilk who praised it as one of their “favorite videos of 2017.” The visual paid homage to Houston culture like much of T2’s music while also “challenging the viewer to look beyond the basics.” (Milk) T2 continued delivering the good vibes with “a summer-perfect visual,” (HotNewHipHop) for “Daze,” and he made waves when his single, “B.L.C.” (feat. Maxo Kream) premiered on episode 103 of Noisey Radio on Beats 1.

“T2 Ghetto Hippie represent a slice of Houston that is both rooted to the earth and wholly celestial.” (Houston Press) His down to earth persona and expansive creative energy have made him a fixture in the Houston music scene. His single “Hustletown,” featuring Southern rap icon Z-Ro, debuted on 97.9 The Box with legendary DJ Michael “5000” Watts, and his previous Trakksounds-produced album, A Southwest Side Story, landed on Houston Chronicle’s “12 of the Year’s Best Houston Albums.” With each release T2 continues to push forward Houston’s rap legacy and set himself apart as the “new sound in H-Town.” (Mass Appeal)
