Target is opening up a store at the site of the former movie theater on 82nd Street, which will be transformed into a multi-story retail and commercial building, officials said.
The 22,700-square-foot store is part of the retail chain’s expansion with “small-format” locations in denser parts of the city, like a shop planned at the Essex Crossing development in the Lower East Side.
The company also opened another smaller store in Forest Hills in December, with a CVS Pharmacy, household items, clothes and more.
The borough’s newest Target is projected to open in 2019 and will be on the ground floor of the new retail center called “The Shoppes at 82nd Street” at the former movie theater location at 40-31 82nd St. Read More…
