OUTKICK – Today marks the 1-year anniversary of sports shutting down in America when Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID. What a wild year it has been. Clay Travis examines the past 12 months, specifically what he believes we did right, and what we did wrong.
Clay says that sports should have never shut down for as long as they did, and people needed to look at all the data. While the pandemic has been a serious issue in our country, it did not affect athletes severely. Data proves that there have been far more COVID cases in America since the NBA started their new season with normal travel than there were when the Lakers lifted the trophy in the Orlando bubble.
Clay is excited about where we finally have arrived. The Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys both announced that they will be having 100% capacity at their home games for their upcoming seasons. The Rangers will have their fans first, as their home opener is less than a month away on April 5th against the Toronto Blue Jays. One year after sports shut down, we are announcing stadiums at full capacity.
