Monday on “The Talk@Home” Dave Bautista gets candid about playing former pro wrestler Raw Dog Avalanche in “Room 104.” He reveals, “I don’t want to give anything away… but it’s not what you think it is… the episode takes place with him going through therapy, he’s been traumatized in the past, which explains who he is, who is not necessarily what meets the eye. There are a lot of twists and turns in this, and it’s very deep, and it’s dark. It’s a different kind of performance for me which is why I was excited about it. But when I first heard about this I turned it down immediately because I didn’t want to play a professional wrestler, I tried very hard to kind of separate the two worlds.” Bautista continues, “Originally I was not down with playing a professional wrestler… I read it [the script] and I was like, man this is a role I’ve been looking for for a long time… It’s funny because when the producers reached out to me, they said they couldn’t think about anybody else playing this role, which is quite an honor in itself. I love people thinking of me like that, that means everything to me. I left wresting to be an actor, not to be a movie star.”
