Jameela Jamil opens up on the Photolift app that makes people look thinner and explains why she called them out on social media. “When you see this digitally perfect image then you look into the mirror and you’re confronted with your own appearance, so it’s really bad for your mental health. But it is also making people who are hopefully going to have sex with us, it makes them also stop being used to seeing cellulite and stretch marks and different things, sagging… which are all normal,” says Jamil. “It’s definitely worse for women. It’s happening more to women. We’re giving these more and more unreal expectations to live up to. Aren’t we tired? Don’t we have enough to do? It’s just too much now. It’s 2019. We save lives. We cure diseases. We are a human beings. We deserve more than that.”
