EMP jumpstarts 2017 with their new single, “Pink Nights,” which is a rabbit hole into a lean-fueled rendezvous that doesn’t come to an end. “Pink Nights” will also be featured on Noisey’s Beats 1 radio show, alongside an interview with the group. Tune in on Saturday at 9AM EST and again, on Sunday at 9PM EST. In September 2016, EMP released their first single ever, “Rebellion,” with a double premiere on Ebro’s Beats 1 radio show and Complex. Enjoy this audio stream below after the jump.
Since its promising debut, it has gained over 1.5M collective streams on Spotify and Soundcloud and has been recognized by Complex as “a snapshot of where we are in our lives right now and how we’re not going to let anyone tell us what we can and what we can’t do.” Following the success of “Rebellion,” they released the incendiary “Perfect Timing” in November 2016. “A track you’d blast through your speakers to get you amped up,” (HotNewHipHop) “Perfect Timing” has collected over 280K streams. Both of these singles landed on Spotify playlists, including the viral hit maker, “Most Necessary,” as well as “Northern Bars” and “We Everywhere.” With two buzzing singles, EMP has proven they are the pacesetters for Toronto’s subculture takeover. A sonic portrait of Toronto’s downtown teen-cult, EMP is Eestbound (producer), Milly Manson (emcee) and Pree (vocalist). While forging their own counterculture, EMP is quickly becoming a household name in the Toronto underground scene and gaining the credits to back it up. The mastermind behind popular tracks, including Travis Scott’s “Antidote,” Young Thug’s “Freaky” and Little Simz’s “Bad to the Bone,” Eestbound’s explosive production is the backbone of EMP’s cinematic sound. It’s topped off with Milly’s energetic, in-your-face flows and Pree’s sweet-but-savage melodies. The trio is preparing for their debut EP, set to release in 2017, and leading up to it, “EMP is proving that there’s more to The 6 than what we know.” (Revolt TV)
