Trae Tha Truth – “Too Late” ft. Post Malone (Prod. by Mook Beats)

Trae Tha Truth

By Jack Barnes

Known for his booming voice and trigger-like flow, Trae Tha Truth detonates raps unlike anyone else in hip-hop. Today the Houston heavyweight releases “Too Late,” the last single off his forthcoming album Tha Truth Pt. 3. The H-Town Hitman taps trap-n-b chart-topper Post Malone for a second collaboration, with each rapper trading staggering punchlines and eye-opening truths over the Mook Beats produced track. “Play around get laid down…. 100 Rounds” “Every single second just a grain of sand.” Enjoy this audio stream below after the jump.

The song doubles as an affirmation for achieving non-stop success and an unapologetic celebration of one’s victories. The trap-style track broods gravitas with it’s eerie piano melody, rapidfire beat and reverb-heavy vocals, serving as a sneak peek of what’s to come from Tha Truth Pt. 3, Trae’s star-studded upcoming album. “Too Late” follows the menancing banger “Thuggin” ft. Young Thug and the release of the Billboard-premiered posse cut I’m On 3.0,” which features appearances from A-Listers like Snoop Dogg, T.I., and Rick Ross alongside quality up-and-comers like G-Eazy, D.R.A.M., Dave East, and Jay-Z’s new favorite rapper Tee Grizzley, established lyricists like Fabolous, Chamillionaire, Curren$y, Styles P, and Royce Da 5’9,” and even artists such as Mark Morrison and Gary Clark Jr.

About Trae Day:
Trae Day, an official holiday declared by the Mayor of Houston to reward Trae for his contributions to the community, will take place July 21st. This year, Trae Day is a full-on celebration, lasting an entire weekend. Sponsored by McDonald’s, Trae Day will feature free performances from a legion of artists, such as Dave East, Curren$y, Nick Cannon and others, and numerous gifts and give-aways. “Trae Day was supposed to be a day that they celebrate for me,” explains Trae, “but I reversed it and made it a day that we celebrate the city of Houston. The fact that I can go back and put smiles on people’s faces and give them hope, that’s what gives me my energy and my motivation to keep pushing.”
