Reminiscent of the Miami bass movement, Trap Beckham‘s new video, “Work It For Me,” is certainly putting a new spin on the subgenre. Directed by Jon J Visuals & Dre Films, the seductive visual complete with strippers & raining cash premiered exclusively on HotNewHipHop yesterday afternoon. About the DJ Luke Nasty-assisted release, HotNewHipHop declared, “the record itself is a smash but with the release of the video, it should definitely make people pay more attention to what he’s up to.” Enjoy this video stream below after the jump and please share this with friends.
“Work It For Me” can be found on the Florida rapper’s new mixtape, Evil Emoji, released in March on MyMixtapez. The project not only showcases Trap’s versatility, but boasts significant guest features fitting Trap’s aesthetic including D-Roc of The Ying Yang Twins, Trinidad James, Tokyo Jetz, Foolio, Strap Da Fool, and more.
Last year, Beckham released his debut EP, Life Is Lit, off the heels of his hit single, “Lil Booties Matter,” which recently hit 3M views on YouTube and continues to rise. Produced by Da Internz, the body-positive twerk anthem is undoubtedly a club banger.
At 19, Trap Beckham attained success regionally with songs like “Top Of The Line” and “Ohh She Thick,” winning awards, and becoming a fixture in the college scene in the southeast. After excessive touring, “The Golden Boy Of The Hood” caught the attention of major labels, eventually signing to Def Jam Recordings. Since releasing “Birthday Bitch,” the standout single has garnered over 17M total plays, reaching number 5 on the Billboard 200, putting Trap on the map nationally. Aside from celebrities like Leslie Jones & Zendaya rocking out to it on social media, his memorable birthday anthem has since been featured on HBO’s Insecure and on the prominent compilation series, Now That’s What I Call Music! 59.
