Trayvon Martin’s mother: “I chose to live”

Two and a half years before Ferguson, the shooting death of Trayvon Martin was a call to action for many people. The unarmed 17-year-old was shot and killed in 2012 by George Zimmerman, who claimed he was attacked and fired in self-defense. Now Trayvon Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, have teamed up with Jay-Z on the new six-part docuseries called “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story.” It chronicles Trayvon’s death and the protest movement that emerged afterward. Gayle King spoke with Sybrina Fulton about Trayvon’s death and the launch of a movement.
