IVAV recording artist Ty Brasel releases his introspective new music video for “The Game”. The visual premiered exclusively through Apple Music on May 4 and is featured on his latest project Destined For Greatness (Side A). Enjoy this video stream below after the jump and please share this with friends.

“The Game” is a dynamic music video that illustrates the rapper’s struggle with reaching prestige in “the game” and losing sight of what’s important. Throughout the visual, Brasel repeatedly asks himself “If I leave the game would they love me the same?”

With his growing fame and newly signed record deal with IVAV the hip-hop division of Curb Records / Word Entertainment, Ty is questioning motives on “The Game”. The visual depicts the Memphis native having an internal dialogue about various pros and cons to success.

“The Game” also explores his transition from a struggling addict to sober emcee on the cusp of rap super stardom. He raps, “When I was young I would pop Ace of Spades/ Money on the floor and the drugs in my veins/ If I die in vein wouldn’t that be a shame/ But If I leave the game would they love me the same.”

Ty’s honest lyricism has helped his new project amass over 600K streams since its debut. The visual has a slight flashback narrative and uses a superimposition effect to show Ty (currently) looking at himself when he was lost in the game. “The Game” is a follow up to other standout singles like “Praying Hands” (140K views) and “Phoenix In Exile” (116K views). His Spotify following has increased to nearly 7K followers thanks to his successful tour run with Reach Records recording artists KB and Trip Lee on their Home Team Tour.

“Whether Christian hip-hop is your thing or not, Ty Brasel is an artist worth checking out,” wrote The Source about Ty and his newly released music.

“The Game” follows the artist as he falls deeper into “the lifestyle” while attending parties and being swarmed by insincere people.  As he recognizes the twisted inner-workings of the industry Brasel explains, “I don’t like the spotlight I’d rather be low key.”

“The Game” exemplifies the concept of his new project. According to Ty, Destined For Greatness (Side A) is about “Satan’s war for my soul. It takes you on the journey of my story, through all of the ups and downs, good and evil that life brings.”
