Getmybuzzup: How long have you been in the music industry?
VICU: I’ve been in the music industry since I was 15.
Getmybuzzup: How did you get started in the first place?
VICU: I had been singing all my life and my mom would always play different types of music around the house. That definitely helped me build an ear for music.
Getmybuzzup: How would you describe your latest single “Coconut Rum”?
VICU: Coconut rum is a strait vibe! It’s definitely one of my favorite records I’ve done. It’s a solid mix of Pop and RnB. It’s got some drake energy🤟
Getmybuzzup: Who are your inspirations in the music industry?
VICU: John Mayer, LANY, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Miguel, Drake, Ty Dolla $ign, Tone Stith, Bruno Mars, The Band Camino, Pink Sweats.
Getmybuzzup: How do you go about writing a song and what is your process?
VICU: When it comes to writing and my process of creation I normally start with creating production then freestyling to the record multiple times and normally within my freestyles I’ll say things and give myself melodies to build a story.
Getmybuzzup: What is the concept behind your latest project “Complementary”?
VICU: The whole idea was to bring together two completely different songs and build them to connect in a way that they complement each other. I really enjoyed going from minimal acoustic production to the big production.
Getmybuzzup: Any plans on touring to promote your latest single?
VICU: I would love to go on the “Back to the future love” tour and that will 100% happen. Might not go down Until 2021 or 2022 but by then COVID will have calmed down and it’ll be a lot safer to go on tour and on top of that there will be tons of music out and by then have built a large following!
Getmybuzzup: What did you buy with your first check off music?
VICU: Recording software!
Getmybuzzup: What are must-haves when your in the studio working?
VICU: Honestly don’t need much. As long as I got my guitar and a decent vocal mic and my partner Matt Veirs hits get made.
Getmybuzzup: How difficult is it being an audio Engineer?
VICU: For me, it hasn’t been all that difficult. It’s just something you take your time learning and greatness will happen. A lot of it is about having a good ear in my opinion.
Getmybuzzup: Do you produce your own tracks?
VICU: Yes I make sure I’m a part of every inch of the creation of the record. Writing/producing/recording/mixing.
Getmybuzzup: Do you produce for other artists?
