Keak Da Sneak

A progenitor of hyphy and a hero in the Oakland streets, Keak Da Sneak is the hip-hop voice of the Bay Area. In “Ima Keep It Goin’,” Keak’s new video, the veteran spotlights one of the signature elements of East Bay street culture: the sideshow. A neighborhood gathering often located in vacant lots or street intersections, sideshows are impromptu car shows where drivers do donuts and other stunts in their fanciest. Filmed by aerial drone, “Ima Keep It Goin'” offers panoramic vistas of several sideshows, as well as panoramic vistas of The Bay Bridge and the city of Oakland. Featuring a guest verse from E-40, who contributes a typically boisterous verse (“how you call yourself a boss if you ain’t got no employees?”), the video is a succinct survey of Bay Area culture, complete with shots of block parties, dice games, and a cameo from Marshawn Lynch. “Ima Keep It Goin'” is the latest video from Withdrawl, Keak Da Sneak’s first album since 2013.
Entirely produced by The Mekanix, Withdrawl is Keak’s latest since recovering from two serious gunshot incidents in 2017.
