Vlado Jozic

By Jack Barnes

Getmybuzzup: Tell us a little about yourself?

Vlado: “Well, I’m currently a solo artist , where I handle my work at home studio. Before that, I worked with some bands where I was guitar player and song writer. And while I really enjoyed the work that I did, I’d love the chance to dig in much deeper with one specific genre ” ROCK “, which is why I’m so excited about this opportunity with this project to do it by myself .”

Getmybuzzup: How long have you been in the music industry?

Vlado: “More than twenty years I think, but music was always there. .”
Getmybuzzup: How did you get started in the first place?

Vlado: “To play in a band was like WOOW, so yeah, it’s heard and it’s powerful. I never went to music school So yea, rock band is my mother, father, school and beginning.”

Getmybuzzup: How would you describe your sound?

Vlado: “It´s Rock n Roll, guitar riffs and Marshall.”img_0529
Getmybuzzup: Who are your inspirations in the music industry?

Vlado: “Many great artist who inspired me like Ace Frehley, Jimmy Page, Clapton, Angus Young, Bowie, Marc Bolan, Eddie Van Halen, SRV etc etc. ”
Getmybuzzup: What are you currently working on?

Vlado: “I finished my solo album there is all songs covers and my inspirations when I started to play in bands and those songs will be always my biggest favorites. I tried to it by myself, it was no easy thing but this time I just felt like I´m adult man (laugh) to do it my myself without a band) and I like it.

Getmybuzzup: What is the concept behind your latest project?

Vlado: “The Roots, like Kunta Kinte, go back there you belong and for me it´s rock and roll. We live now in the world there is no ” real ” thing out there. Everybody is in some kind TV show to sing or perform, so I´m just tired to see this. Concept is that I will play my thing and continue where I started and don`t care about today’s music. People need to be real again and play with feeling. Go back to rock n roll.People awake (laugh)”

Getmybuzzup: Any plans on touring to promote your latest project?

Vlado: “Right now I´m without a band but we never know it can be something after this summer.”

Getmybuzzup: What did you buy with your first check off music?

Vlado: “The Beatles Lp , White Album.”

Getmybuzzup: What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?

Vlado: “My advice is play your music with your hands and make it sound like real thing. Don`t be a robot (laugh)”

Getmybuzzup: Will you be collaborating with any other artists on this project or in the future?

Vlado: “It can happen , if something interesting is on the way I would do it.”

Getmybuzzup: Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?

Vlado: “Half and half I think, everything is important to do a great song. For me is a guitar riff first thing I will hear to like something.”

Getmybuzzup: What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc..)

Vlado: “When playing live one can play a little more freely but the studio is discipline and proper timing. I think that I´m better now because I learned more to work in studio with compressors and eq stuff, I always strive for
to get “that” sound. Choose right comp for drum sound for example and I don´t like new amps, I still play on JMT45 and Super Lead 68, that`s the sound I love.”

Getmybuzzup: What’s your all-time favorite song?

Vlado: “Uff, I have many but I still love songs like, You Really Got Me, great riff song.” This song is on my new CD ” It´s still a Rock N Roll To Me.”

Getmybuzzup: In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?

Vlado: “I think that blues lost some power and today is really nobody there I like, but from the past is definitely Led Zeppelin and Kiss with Criss and Ace.”

Getmybuzzup: Who have been some of your favorite artists that you’ve been able to work with?

Vlado: “I worked with many talented people from beginning and some of them is still there and play, they love what they do I think and yea, rock on guys! See ya..”

Getmybuzzup: How do you feel about the current state of music?

Vlado: “Music industry is really sh.. today, what can I say. MP3 is okej, but I love to se a LP album . I think that we all now can do what we want and show it´s okej, but we will never have new ” Hendrix ” or ” Elvis” thing. New artist is popular three months and goodbye, next..”

Getmybuzzup: What is your main goal as far as music?

Vlado: “It`s like ,We must go on toalet and for me music is the same thing, I must play. I have to let it out otherwise I will pee at me(laugh)

Getmybuzzup: Who Would you say your music relates to the most?

Vlado:  “All classic rock stuff from the past.”

Getmybuzzup: What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?)

Vlado: “I think that I´m a combination of everything. All that great guitar players is there inside of me and I love them all (laugh)”

Getmybuzzup: When you’re not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?

Vlado: “I like to go outside with my cat, he is a real rock star for me, he eats everything from spiders, ants to wasps (laugh)”

Getmybuzzup: If you could work with any producer who would it be?

Vlado: “Bob Ezrin, Jimmy Page or Eddie Kramer ”

Getmybuzzup: What’s the biggest highlight of your career thus far?

Vlado: “I have my own studio and this is something special for me. I can do it every day if a want to and that`s a big highlight to be free and not need to pay or compromise. Be free in your mind and do it like you want it. Great!

Getmybuzzup: What artist music are you currently a fan of?

Vlado: “I love old stuff and Frankly, none of them new artists are good ”

Getmybuzzup: When performing live what are some of the things you do to get the crowd involved?

Vlado: “You should show that you can play, people have respect for it. The scene is holy place. Then it begins magic ”

Getmybuzzup: When performing and the crowd is singing along how does that energy make you feel?

Vlado: “It feels like celebrating something big together. A big ceremony where we all are ourselves and just have good time and enjoy life.”

Getmybuzzup: What can we expect from you in the future?

Vlado: “I will play my guitar and record something new I think.”

Getmybuzzup: Anything else ya’ll wanna add?

Vlado: “I want to greet all the people who follow my path and I am grateful for that.”

Getmybuzzup: Where can the fans check out for your music?
