🎹 🐬 Young Dolph Duets With His Mom in the Heartwarming “Black Queen” Video

Young Dolph

By Jack Barnes

Though Young Dolph makes flexing look easy, the Memphis-born rapper has earned every diamond, designer thread, and luxury car he owns. Dolph has never shied away from the intense circumstances into which he was born, rather, he celebrates the challenges he’s overcome while inspiring others to keep pursuing their dreams too. Today, he shares the video for the most touching and tender track from his Role Model project in which he celebrates the most important person in his life, his mom, whom he knights as his “Black Queen.” Enjoy this video stream below after the jump and please share this with friends.

With his beautiful mother regally playing a grand piano by his side, this video represents a happy ending to a turbulent beginning; Dolph recounts how he was born to crack-addicted parents but also credits his rough upbringing for providing him with the mental and emotional stamina to succeed in the rap game andthe trap game: “Same hood fucked my mom and dad up, I made a million off of that block.” In the video, Dolph addresses his mother directly, forgiving her for her role in his troubled upbringing, channeling Tupac when he says, “Even though you was a crack fiend, momma/You gave birth to a trap king, momma/You gon’ always be my trap queen, momma/Damn, I mean you’ll always be my black queen, momma.”

“Black Queen” is the introductory track from Role Model, Dolph’s latest studio album, which peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100.  Released by Paper Route EMPIRERole Model provides a new context for Dolph’s braggadocio and sets an example for rising independent rappers and anyone else trying to get out the mud. Role Model finds Dolph leveling up, experimenting with new flows and raising his boastful bars to a superhuman level. Featuring appearances from Snoop Dogg, Offset, Key Glock, and Kash DollRole Model is Dolph’s origin story, establishing him as a symbol of hope to kids in the hood who desperately want to improve their lives. Last month, Dolph announces the #ThatsMajorChallenge, inspired by his video for “Major,” featuring Key Glock, offering to gift a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat to the maker of the best user-generated content for the song.
