Video: Yung Ralph – “Everyday”
By Jack Barnes
In anticipation of his forthcoming I Am Juugman project, Atlanta rap vet Yung Ralph finds himself in the spotlight again, delivering the video for his reflective second single “Everyday.” “Where Juugin’ Round the City was notable for its low end-heavy maximalism, ‘Everyday’ siphons all the shine toward Ralph himself,” stated Passion of the Weiss in their premiere post. “In fact, the song is anchored by an acapella chorus that leaves plenty of room for his distinctive growl.” Following the release of the Fetty Wap-assisted first single “Act A Fool” last month via The FADER, the underground king’s regional prominence has demanded national recognition. For many, including Kevin Gates, it’s Yung Ralph’s rhymes that stick. His lyrics are genuine, honest, and impactful, filled with gems that share a story of someone that’s dealt with a significant amount struggles and successes, maintaining his humility and loyalty throughout – as is evident in “Everyday.” Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.
An architect of the Atlanta sound that’s been popularized over the past 5+ years, Yung Ralph aka Juugman is no stranger to the game, having first gained traction with his regional hit “Look Like Money“in 2007 via Universal Republic. A frequent collaborator of Gucci Mane and Zaytoven at the time, a short list of highlights to follow includes having teamed up with Nicki Minaj in 2010 for “I Bought That,”releasing his Juugin’ Round the City mixtape in 2013, and most recently being featured on Rich Gang’s“Ridin” as well as Young Thug‘s Slime Season stand-out “Rarri” – Thugger actually shouts him out on“Stoner” with the lyric “I’m back at it, Juugman voice,” in reference to Yung Ralph’s “Back At It”single. Yung Ralph’s I Am Juugman project releases in December.
